Batanes is the northernmost province of the Philippines. It is located about 650 kilometers north of Manila, it is also about 200 kilometers north of Cagayan province in Luzon. Batanes is just about 100 kilometers south of Taiwan.
Batanes is composed of ten islands but only three islands are inhabited — Batan, Sabtang and Itbayat.
The total land area of Batanes is 209 square kilometers.
Batanes has a distinct landscape of rolling hills surrounded by coral reefs. The place is set in between the Pacific Ocean on the east and the West Philippine Sea to the west.
The climate in Batanes is comfortable year-round averaging 19 degrees ~ 24 degrees from December to February to a high of 25 ~ 31 degrees Celsius from June to August.
The people of Batanes are called Ivatans. This is our home!
